It was announced Monday, September 15th that CCHI has been selected as a Covered California Navigator grantee to conduct outreach and enrollment activities in six counties: Orange, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus, and Yolo.
Suzie Shupe, Executive Director of CCHI made this statement on behalf of CCHI and the many community based organizations committed to this program:
“We believe in doing all we can to ensure the culture of coverage is strong in California and that it plays a meaningful role in the lives of all Californians. That is why we are so proud to commit to enrolling over 2,000 children and adults into Covered California. We will be focusing on working with Californians that need the most help enrolling, including those with limited proficiency in English.
All Californians deserve the peace of mind that affordable health insurance offers and the opportunity to do such robust outreach and enrollment activities across the state will allow more and more families to have this advantage. Engaging families in the communities they live in and in their preferred language has long been part of our mission and expanding on these efforts during such a pivotal time for our state is a great honor for CCHI.
I also want to offer my congratulations to our other member organizations and close community partners that received Navigator grants and who will be doing this exciting work during open enrollment right alongside us. Together we will continue California’s legacy as a leader in health care reform and as a champion for the future health of our state.”
