California Coverage & Health Initiatives (CCHI) is involved at all levels in the enrollment effort in California. Our member organizations have historically led the way in outreach and enrollment efforts with substantial success. We have set the standard for robust coordinated enrollment initiatives and are regularly sought out for our wide range of collective experience.
CCHI is directly engaged in the national Connecting Kids to Coverage campaign through a Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services grant focusing on eligible uninsured Latino children and their families. Additionally, seven county level CCHI member organizations are part of this wide ranging enrollment campaign and will be helping their communities in California’s Central Valley, Southern Coast and Inland Empire navigate into health coverage.
CCHI members and partners are also involved with the Covered California Outreach and Education grants designed to reach a broad range of communities. Our members leverage their unique and trusted relationships in local communities to start a real conversation about what coverage means and what options are available to Californians.
Our members and partners also have robust grassroots networks that allow them to build meaningful relationships with families and their children in creative ways, engaging in outreach and enrollment where the need is greatest, meeting families where they are: in schools, clinics, community fairs, grocery stores, etc. These connections are forged through respect, putting in the time it takes to establish a trusted community voice and channeling resources to the outreach workers that meet California’s health care needs face to face. You can find out more about our members here.
CCHI is a leader in health advocacy for children and families and is recognized as a statewide network of community organizations that champion enrollment in health coverage, access to care and other services.
