Today is the day many Americans have been waiting for. For far too long, millions across the United States have lived with the uncertainty and distress caused by lack of affordable health coverage options. Open Enrollment starts today and the promise of ObamaCare is becoming a reality for families in California. It is estimated that 2.7 million Californians are now able to enroll in affordable health coverage and the more of them we get enrolled in the coming months the more we all benefit; ObamaCare benefits our economy, but more importantly, the quality of life we all enjoy.
ObamaCare means every child enrolled in coverage is being given a greater chance at success in life, at school, at play and within their communities. For families, new coverage options offered through Covered California and the expansion of Medi-Cal mean that families and children stay healthy will no longer be one illness away from financial ruin. It is our goal at CCHI to reach as many families in as many settings as we can to ensure that the promise of coverage under ObamaCare becomes an enrollment in a health coverage option for all Californians. We find ourselves honored and humbled on this important day to be a part of the work going on across California and in our member organizations to bring health coverage to all Californians through ObamaCare.
